8 Tile Trends with Modern Appeal

When it comes to certain rooms in the home, mainly the bathroom and kitchen, there is no
doubt that tiles can make all the difference. Floor and wall tiles add a sense of style and
elegance to these rooms, but with so much choice available, it can be difficult to know which
ones to choose. Thankfully, there are many fabulous tile options available that will look
fantastic in your home and will give it a modern appeal. Below are a few examples.

      grey

In terms of a contemporary appeal, grey is definitely in right now. Many people are choosing
shades of grey paint for their home and, in the bathroom in particular, grey tiles look fantastic.
They are chic and exude glamour while still providing a calming neutral feel. Metallic grey tiles
are an excellent choice as these add a sense of drama and look fabulous with black or white
fluffy towels and matching bathroom accessories.

      marble

Marble tiles ooze luxury and are a typical choice in many top hotels. However, marble can be
expensive; thankfully, there are many marble effect tiles to choose from instead. For a classic
look, go for large tiles; to create the illusion of more space, consider using the same tiles on the
      floor and walls.

      mosaic

Although mosaic tiles have been around for some time, they are still bang on trend. There is so
much more choice these days when it comes to bathroom mosaic tiles & kitchen mosaic tiles
and they can look stunning as a backsplash. Metal and glass mosaic tiles are great choices for
those who want to add a sense of glamour and style. Nonetheless, for mosaic tiles to look their
best, they need to be grouted neatly, so it does pay to get them fitted and grouted
      professionally.

      moroccan

Moroccan style tiles are huge right now and are on the pages of many interior design
magazines. Moroccan tiles look fantastic on bathroom floors or walls because they add colour
and pattern. They also add a holiday feel and look fantastic with a crisp white bathroom suite.

      natural stone

Natural stone is hugely popular in terms of tiling in the home, and for many reasons. Natural
stone looks beautiful and the fact that no two stone tiles are the same means that you will
have a unique floor or wall. Natural stone also adds a feeling of warmth to a room due to the
      soft texture and warm tones.

      rectangular

For a break from the norm, why not opt for long rectangular tiles for a dramatic effect. The
grid-like pattern looks amazing on floors or walls and there are many types and colours of tile
available in this style. This makes them ideal for any room. One of the benefits of this kind of
tiling is the reduced amount of grouting required, which naturally makes cleaning much easier.
Another advantage of grid-like tiling is that it has the effect of making small rooms feel more
      spacious.

      blue

Blue continues to be a firm favourite for the bathroom, mainly because it produces a clean feel
and is typically associated with water. Nevertheless, you do not have to tile the entire
bathroom in blue tiles. There is so much choice today but, for a really modern twist, why not
opt for one wall or just the splashback over the basin in hexagonal blue tiles, or choose large
blue floor tiles with a white bathroom suite and white walls.

      reflective

If you want to create the illusion of a larger space, particularly in the bathroom, reflective tiles
are ideal. Materials include mother of pearl and glass and are a wonderful way to add a touch
of glamour to a room. These are available in a range of colours, and even darker tones will look
dramatic and elegant, especially with the light bouncing off them.

There are so many choices in terms of style, material, and colour that it can be difficult to
decide on the perfect tiles for your home. We hope that the trends we have listed above will
help you in making your decision.
